Loads to talk about.
School was okay today. Colour was slack, no pressure. Just unleashed the inner child in me. Haha. DADra was okay too. I did'nt fall asleep, but my mind kept on wandering away. But I was able to absorb what was said by the lecturer. Again, no pressure.
So yeah, TGIF! Haha. Time to lay back and do what I do best, laze on the couch and watch TV. Out of the three shows, once again, Ghost Whisperer came out top. I don't know why I love that show so much. Could be the storyline, or just that Jennifer Love Hewitt looks damn good! Haha.
Okay, but before that, I wanted to look for some new songs through MySpace of course. So in the process, I came across Eugene's account. He's the guy who played the rocker boy in the local sitcom A.B.C.. D.J. The first thought that came through my mind when I saw him on the tele was that he was just some actor who dress up as some punk rock kid just cause it's a part he had to play. Apparently, he's from the states. Think he's from Huntington, CA. Not surprised he dressed that way cause Huntington is kinda of a rock populated area.
While exploring, I found out that he used to work as a DJ there, an indie rock DJ to be precise. So in his blog entry, I realised what he said has some truth in it. It's about indie rock losing it's roots. I read that people are using the term indie rock as a form of way to hit mainstream the quickest way. However, indie should be more of an underground kind of concept. An indie artist should climb his way up through a more 'Do-It-Yourself' way. I believe an indie band gets noticed through words of mouth and not through any forms of media. The public got to know of them by listening to them play in clubs and purchasing their self recorded album. I mean, I realised nowadays, indie bands are hitting the big gig and making radios play their songs over and over. This in turn, allows the band to hit mainstream. Thus, no longer indie.
There's still alot to be said, but I'm just too lazy. Haha. Take in mind that what I've said was just my opinion of what I feel about indie. Nothing personal. Haha.
Oh yeah, I managed to get some pictures from BayBeats. I realised that the're alot of sites now uploading the pictures. Interested? Check out Audioreload to find out. They're doing an aftermath of BayBeats too. Interviews and some clips of the performance. One Buck Short's gonna be in it too! Alrighty! Hurry up and finish up the video lah!
One Buck Short rocked BayBeats!
BayBeats rocked indie! Thus the term, 'Indie Rock'... Haha!I wanna jam. I wanna start my side project. I wanna be a music critic. I wanna live in the 1930's. I wanna tour the world. I wanna play at gigs.
