Been awhile.
I've been listening to indie songs so much that I forgot how exciting punk songs can be. So the night went by with me listening to almost every old punk songs I have. In doing so, I managed to revive this particular band that has been lost from my listening ears for like almost a year! It's Anti-Flag!
Most of their songs are mainly about politics and terrorism. It's interesting cause they are making a point in almost all of their songs. The angst and hidden message in their songs are just awesome. Bands such as this deserve credits for being brave enough to make such statements about the government. I mean, who dares to make a song such as that and let the public hear? In Singapore, if the government hears you giving bad comments bout them, the next thing you know you could end up behind bars. I believe there is a need for punk musicians to be brave in making such music. Some bands claim to be punk, yet they make such popish songs. I don't know why they call themselves punk in the first place. I think such songs have the ability to change the mindsets of people. They can make people aware of the activities around them. Green Day was able to create that impact. I'm hoping more punk bands are able to do that and not just make nice music.
Welp, enough of that. The last few days has been ok. Managed to get some time off to jam. Schedule does'nt seem too packed. I kinda like my timetable for this month a whole damn lot! It always ends early and I get to go home and sleep. I thought it was gonna be a stressful month like last time. How wrong I was. Haha. What I expect always turns out to be the opposite. How come ah?
Looking forward to the filming of a Gothic New Year. Gonna be real fun. Haha.
Cheers!
