Up till now, I still couldn't believe Wayne has passed away. It really is shocking news.
I haven't heard of The SUNS before until Gen passed me one of their songs. From that song, I grew to like The SUNS up to a point I got obsessed with them! Haha. Yeah, I even decided to go to this record store in Arab Street to see if they had The SUNS album on sale. But, to my disappointment, they had none left.
I remembered as I was coming home from school, I decided to play one of The SUNS number and somehow, Wayne's drumming caught my attention. Soon after, I'd play that same particular song over and over just to figure out how he does it. Haha. I think he is one phenomenal drummer and he has done alot for Singapore's local music scene, from the podcast of Rampage on the Airwaves to Gilarock. He even produced albums, one namely with The Great Spy Experiment who are just about to release their new album. It is pretty sad he won't be able to see his work finished.
Somehow I wished I could have been to one of their performances or even took up the drumming lessons with him. I guess this is one of those things that will haunt me for life. Hah.
