Singfest was absolute fun. When we entered Fort Canning, we could hear OBS doing sound check. So I tell the guys, 'Maybe this is what heaven would be like when I pass through the gates. Hendrix and all the other great musician all waiting for me to join them in their gig.' HAHA!
Met Gen first before heading up to meet the rest in Dhoby Ghaut. Most of us were kinda lost cos we couldn't seem to find one another. Haha. Lunched and off for Singfest.
The hot weather didn't seem to bother me. Though I did complain once in awhile. Heh. So here's the review of the bands.
GREAT SPY EXPERIMENT:
Awesome band, with great stage presence. I was like, into the music man. Like, I've missed them live all the time and this was like the first them I'm seeing them. So the experience was enjoyable. The song choices were great, especially Class 'A' Love Affair. IT WAS AWESOME! Could be better if they're were two guitarist. Dunno what happened to the other guy. But I must say, the bassist did an exellent job. Groovy beats!
ONE BUCK SHORT:
Need I even say anything about this band? Awesome show by them, from beginning right towards the end of their set. Their songs won't seem to stop you from moshing and bopping to their catchy rhymes. They managed to get the crowd to mosh to most of their songs they play. It was helluva great fun.
CROWNED KING:
Was too tired from the mosh and the sun was beating like mad at that time. So I was like stoning through out their show. But the songs they played were nice and they got the crowd moving to their number.
COBRA STARSHIP:
Went out to get drinks during their set. Haha. The drinks they sell there were at an outrageous price man. But managed to catch last few minute of their set. They're a very enthusiatic bunch and their vocalist does have a good voice. Overall, they were alright.
Academy Is...:
Oh my, this band is goods stuff. Even though their bass were like booming like mad, I like the songs that they play. Plus, the frontman is a great entertainer. Towards the end of the show, the drummer got a little to excited and he just crashed the drum set. Cool stuff man.
Gym Class Heroes:
Some of us were complaining that Gym Class Heroes should skip the set and go straigt to A7X. Haha. But they're not too bad. The songs they played were really catchy. A mix of rock and hip-hop. Sweet stuff they got there.
Avenged Sevenfold:
This was the highlight of the whole event. The crowd got more during their set. Even though the show started pretty late, it was worth the wait in the hot, sweaty and smelly crowd. Quite alot of their number were played from Waking the Fallen album. They also played some of their new songs. Was'nt that bad. Plus, Synyster played a solo in between. Was'nt really impressed, but hey. It's Synyster playing live, how often do you get to see it? Haha.
Then that's the end. Left right after A7X. Had to miss MXPX cos I got school the next day. Spoiler.
Later on at the very same night after Singfest, I met my friends to finish up the group assignment. It was so last minute man. I was super shagged somemore. So I didn't sleep after I got from Singfest. TIRED LIKE MAD LARH! It was amazing I managed to breeze through the presentation without any run through. Haha.
